Just assembled his first AR lower. With help, of course.

Spike's tactical lower, pirate version, complete with parlay, plunder and ARRRRRR selector settings
    CMMG lower parts kit
    BCM mil-spec buffer tube
    Magpul STR stock

He's so wired with excitement. And the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. He's shouldering it and pretending to sight down the non-existent barrel just the way Dad does.

Congrats to both you and the young man!

When I was a youngster me mum didn't want us 'being around guns' so my dad put his up for a time. I found his M1A1 at the back of a top shelf in the basement...figured out how to disassemble and reassemble it on my own. The next year I had my own shotgun and we were out hunting...it's an addiction that can't be helped...or stopped apparently.

Congrats 88GT, I don't know if my wife could tolerate two people in our house building AR's, the one person is already spending enough.

That is awesome 88GT. You and Mr GT should be proud of him. I'm betting Ajax could wipe the smile off his face when he gets a chance to shoot the fully assembled rifle. :ar15:

I've got some rings that need lapping and a mushy trigger. Can your kid help me out?

    If he's not too busy.

Watched IndyJohn teach our oldest boy how to assemble his first a year ago. There is nothing like it! He was so proud and he and his brothers couldn't wait to get it out to the range. It's interesting teaching the younger generation to shoot with firearms they have seen on video games. They know the mechanics but once they actually have one in their hands it's a whole new experience.

Teach them safety, teach them respect, and train them up to be the next "great" generation...
