Does anyone have or ever had a Muzzleloading pistol kit? i think there pretty neat and have thought about getting one for several years.....i doubt u can do really any hunting for anything with it, but i think it would be fun to shoot one.
Sure you can hunt w/a muzzleloading handgun, why not?
Small game, no problem.
For deer, in Indiana, a muzzle loading handgun has to be of least .50 cal and have a barrel 12" or longer (per DNR requirements). Meet those specs and you're good to go for deer too.
For kits check out Dixie gun works. I bought a Hawkin pistol kit but have not assembled. It is made in waldron in. If you have a build party check into Mike Miller, rifle maker, met him at spring shoot in Friendship great guy.
They are alot of fun and alot of work. Just take cleaning a muzzleloader times 5 or 6. I have taken one hunting as a back up during muzzleloader but never had the close range encounter to use it.
