Has anyone heard of a blind pinned muzzle flash hider? Is it possible to have a muzzle flash hider held on by a blind pin and no threads?

I had what I believe was a Model 1 Sales upper come through the shop in 7.62x39 right after the assault weapon ban expired that had two pins retaining a press fit muzzle brake.

Ended up just turning the brake off of it on the lathe after fighting the spot welded pins for an inappopriate amount of time.
