MP3 or What?

Since cable tv went digital the treadmills, elliptical trainers, etc. don't have tv connections at the YMCA. I really miss getting my morning news during the workout besides the distraction that tv gives. To replace the tv, I guess I need a portable device that lets me get local radio stations and lets me download music. It also needs to be very light weight and durable. I don't want to break the bank and I don't need something that will hold a million songs. What would be a good device for me?

This is cheap and will do what you want.

I just use my old school iPod. I can plug it in to the stereo in the truck, wear it running/lifting, etc., and it has an internal battery (no replacing one every couple weeks or less) just plug it into the truck stereo or the computer. It is 2gig, and it does everything I need it to do, and a few things I dont need it to.

Its the second gen nano... 2gig, no touch screen. Nothing fancy.

Get one of the new iPod Nano's. They have FM and do MP3 music, as well. They start at 8 gig and clip on.

Back on topic.... Another option is your phone? Most of them have MP3 player's on them now, and I dont know if you are part of the iPhone cult, but Im sure they have an app for the radio too. Just another thought.
