Back in 1979 shot an Ingram MAC9, Reising .45ACP, MP-40 Schmeisser and a Thompson that had documented history of being confiscated from Harry Pierpont (considered to be John Dillinger's mentor) at the old Wild, Wild West Atterbury Range. Several people used to go there once a year or so bring all their full-autos and have what they called a "cook-off". Also fired one round from an old British Boys Anti Tank Rifle in .50 cal. Those where the days.

As a kid we also took a trip to Nellis AFB and I got to man AA cannons and Hangout in a Russian fighter jet. Also got to shoulder disabled RPG's and other confiscated weapons. Those were the days..

I've got an Evansville 45-70 and a 50-70 Serial #009 from Greenfield. Picked up the 50-70 from Dr. Paul Majors himself. My coolest shooter is the 50-70. Hard to hang on to!

M-242, 25mm chain gun on an M3 Bradley.
Possibly the last M-60 in the government inventory.
Possibly the oldest M-9 in the government inventory.
Got to drive an M-551 that carried a unique missile launcher/gun.

While in the service I got to shoot a 148 and a 203 grenade launcher. I also got to shoot an M-60 machine gun. One of my duties was in the armory and once the ammo was taken out for training it couldn't be returned. When some of the augmenting forces (mechanics, office workers) got qualified there were always a bunch that didn't show up on the day they were scheduled. I drove past the range on my way home and would stop and "help" the range guys get rid of the ammo. Only thing I had to do was help clean the guns. Sigh. Those were the days.

German G-43 Rifle. Firing it wasn't any different than shooting a Garand, but the locking mechanism is pretty unusual with 2 flaps that are cammed into place.

Most fun was shooting a Thompson SMG.
