MiniMag is the name of the round given by CCI, same as Thunderbolt, Wildcat, etc. It is NOT a .22 magnum round. It is a high velocity .22 Long Rifle round. Should be fine to use in any firearm chambered in .22 Long Rifle.

My experience has been that CCI mini-mags run better than most brands in most brands of rifles.

There are a few that suggest mini-mags for breaking in a new semi-auto.
    Ruger 10/22's LOVE the mini-mags.

Indeed, MiniMag round nose are my "if it doesn't feed it, the gun is bad" test round.

Mini mags are my Appleseed ammo of choice. Hopefully I can run into enough to keep shooting them this year.

I had a stroke of luck last year.
My local range ran out of .22Lr ammo for sale at the range.

I ran home and rounded up about 2000 rounds of Federal in 50ct boxes.

The range asked if I would rather have money or if I wanted them replaced.

I told them I would rather have them replaced, and when the new shipment came in, I got CCI Mini-Mags 1for1 in return! :rockwoot:

I have some older minimags in the orange translucent box. probably not "OLD" old - but I don't think they package them that way for some time now.

10/22's will shoot just about anything, I can shoot small animals out of mine, that's how good it is

The .22 magnum version is called Maxi-Mag. Mini-Mags shoot 100% in every one of my .22LR guns. Only problem with them is they are expensive.

Growing up, I thought Mini-Mags were the ONLY 22 ammo you could get, cuz that's all dad ever bought. It's still one of the best options available, IF you can find it and pay for it. Still less than the premium match ammo out there.

Stingers are "Hyper-velocity", and have a shorter projectile, and longer case, resulting in some firearms not liking them. (They do have an impressive report for a .22lr though!)

Adding to this, the "Hyper-Vel" 22 LR ammo can be bad for some semi-auto guns. Best to do your research if you are feeding them to something that you are not sure about its durability.
