Marlin 1894SS

Just got this on Sunday gonna put XS Ghost Rings on it and use for deer this year.

Is it new or used? If new\unfired do a little research before firing it, the SS jams up very bad but is easy to fix, if still unfired you can file the cam down yourself, I don't remember the web-site but there is a web-forum just for Marlin guns, you should really check it out. I had 3 of these 1894SS's I think they are the most beautiful gun ever produced! They just seem to have the one slight issue, I hate sending my gun back to the factory! The issue is called the Marlin jam btw.

Nice looking rifle. Just like mine, with the exception of the SS. I really like the ghost rings on mine. At first the rear looks too large, but I was surprised at the accuracy and speed on target.

Thanks guys was going to get blue but just something about the stainless. I had saw a thread about the Marlin Jam at marlinowners. From what I saw it isn't in all of them but better safe than sorry. indyjoe did you use the XS or another brand of ghost ring?

I put on the XS. I also started to put on the XS scout scope mount, but the front hex key that goes into the original rear sight dovetail sheared when I slightly bumped it. I'm kind of annoyed at the lack of response to my email query to them, but haven't messed with it since I found the ghost rings performing well last deer season.
