Is there any limit on magazine capacity in Indiana?

In my old home state of Ohio a semi-auto was a semi-auto unless you put a 30 round magazine in it, at which time it became a machine gun (which is like saying a horse is a horse, except on Tuesdays when it becomes a goat.)

Is there any such nonsense here?

There is no law in the Indiana Code restricting magazine capacity.

At least one municipality has an ordinance restricting magazine capacity (South Bend), but it's clearly invalid based on statewide preemption of such laws (and it's not old enough to be grandfathered). Other towns may have them.

No such nonsense in Indiana but I am curious - Is that Ohio code or just local ordinances for a few cities?

Just to clarify a couple of points about OH...
The rule is 31 rounds in the gun is ok, 32 is not. So a 30 round mag is legal. .22LR/Short is exempt

    ORC 2923.11 said:
    (K) “Dangerous ordnance” means any of the following, except as provided in division (L) of this section:
    (1) Any automatic or sawed-off firearm
    ..
    (E) “Automatic firearm” means any firearm designed or specially adapted to fire a succession of cartridges with a single function of the trigger. “Automatic firearm” also means any semi-automatic firearm designed or specially adapted to fire more than thirty-one cartridges without reloading, other than a firearm chambering only .22 caliber short, long, or long-rifle cartridges.

This law also does not apply to ANY NFA firearms. The law doesn't say federally registered machine guns are exempt, rather any firearm in the national registry are exempt. So an SBR can have mags that hold more than 31 rounds, for example.

    ORC 2923.17 said:
    (A) No person shall knowingly acquire, have, carry, or use any dangerous ordnance.
    ..
    (C) Division (A) of this section does not apply to:
    ..
    (5) Owners of dangerous ordnance registered in the national firearms registration and transfer record

I often take my 9mm SBR'd AR into OH w/ my 32-round mags...
