Let me know thoughts and improvements.

It will cover over 2 miles of navigation.
It will be run in 4 man Teams, each team will be drawn randomly from the attendees on the day of the event.

There will also be 6 Skills Stations along the route.
The OC/Evaluator may add tasks between stations, or initiate stressors between the skill stations at their discretion based on the skill levels demonstrated by the team they are traveling with.

Teams will be given a MGRS (Military Grid Reference System) Topographic Map to utilize to navigate the course. Team members will also be given a sealed Wound Card so when in the event of a teammate becoming wounded during the course of play, the team will have an event to treat.

Sounds a good bit like the pre-deployment checklist for Iraq.

A VERY challenging operation you're contemplating, Jeremy.

We'll see how the first one goes... :dunno:

I really thought of making it similar to a 1 day EIB, but, I thought it would be a little to sever for the beginner to enjoy. Plus I think by keeping it under 2 miles the team times should be around the 4 hour mark...

I think the hardest part right now is finding the bodies to be OC's...

Sounds interesting and challenging, and a good way to push oneself outside of normal static scenarios. It also offers the opportunity to learn important skills that may be critical in a real situation.

My feedback as one that has not had formal training in a number of those areas, is that there may need to be some "classification" of participants. This could go a couple of ways.

    1) If being run as a true competition, it may be benefitial to have at least two sub classes...those that have profficiency in those skills (such as individuals with military training) and those that have lower or beginner levels of these skills, such as folks like myself that have only had limited civilian training.

That way there is a chance for those who are very competitive to compete with and against others of similar skill level, and also a chance for beginners to compete in a class of those similar to them.

    2) On the other hand, and what I personally would think would be very valuable, is to use this as a teaching opportunity, pairing experienced individuals with those with less experience. This may also have a safety benefit as well, as those experienced can address safety issues immediately. The downside would be that those who are very experienced and profficient may be held back bit by those who are not.

All in all I think it is a great idea, and will eagerly look forward to more details!

I am looking at this to be less of a competition, and more of a training and eye opening experience for those with less experience. Possibly, even provide a glimpse for some into what we as Soldiers, Marines do a little bit. It is not all about how well one shoots sometimes, if this rolls well I would like to eventually split it into to at least 2 different groups though,I like that idea...

    Thanks!

EIB is what I first thought of when I read it jeremy. Other than ex-mil, I doubt you will find many here with a lot of those skills. Maybe I am underestimating the group though.

I'm sure there are a lot on here who "think" they have those skills, but you are probably right...the majority of us don't. But, we have to learn somewhere, and I'm guessing many of here on INGO aren't going to enlist in the armed forces.

I will admit is kinda EIB inspired, I also think there will be quite a few who may not have all the skills. One of the reasons I do not want this to be a competition initially, but more of a training, or wake up to see what one does not know...

Even for ex-mil. SOPs also change over time, and this would be a fantastic way to compare notes and upgrade skills--especially since they are perishable.

Maybe the "watchmen" will join us?:D
