My daughter had her identity stolen by a girl in Metcalfe County Kentucky.
I did a web search a found the girls address and some of her other aliases which included my both of my daughters names.
She has not been able to get any help from the State of Indiana or the IRS.
She did get a new ID but this girl is collecting Covid benefits and whatnot in her name.
    Any thoughts?

My daughter lives in Indiana but the Indiana.gov folks said they were sending checks to someone with the same name in Kentucky.
I used that info to track it to a name and address in Kentucky.

I would have her still to the fraud alerts, its free and easy and will prevent any other fraud from any lines of credit being opened without confirmation from her.

Hate to say trust the government, but IN is better than most and stopping and prosecuting this type of fraud.

I had people in Kentucky and Ohio claim unemployment in my name last year. I reported both, and Kentucky had me sign and submit an affidavit stating I hadn’t received any benefits to clear me of any liability. I’d have her contact the Kentucky attorney general…that’s where I started along with their unemployment office. Good luck to her.

This has been ongoing since the start of the Covid craziness.
She quit her job when the schools closed to take care of the kids.
A mother of three and has never seen a penny of help from .gov so far.
It’s a little maddening to see all the scammers get paid and someone who truly needs help
    struggle.

A woman used my name to get a Lowe's credit card and racked up $2,900 in purchases in two days.

The first thing I was advised to do was file a police report with my local cop shop. Which I did.

Obviously your daughter needs to change ALL of her passwords. I even went so far as to request all of my credit cards ( 2 ) be closed and new ones issued. Don't forget online accounts as well.

I decided to buy into "LifeLock" to monitor my credit. It paid off big time; within two month LifeLock provided leads to seven attempts to open lines of credit in my name. Not by the same person, or in the same part of the country.

Once these &#&$@ get hold of your information they sell it to others.
