    From the MD:

    Greetings,

The Atlanta ICORE match for SUNDAY May 19th 2013 is on! I would offer something prophetic about, "Come hell or high water," but given last month's high water, I'm not going to take any chances.

As of right now, the weather for Sunday looks beautiful. If that changes and the weather looks ominous, I will send out a match cancellation by 9p Saturday night.

This month, we will be shooting the Australian Postal Match. The CoF consists of 6 stages and requires a minimum of 102 rounds. Three of these stages are classifier stages and can be submitted to ICORE.

The match fee structure will remain the same as last year. Shooters that RSVP to assist with setup and arrive by 0800 on match day will shoot for a discounted fee. You can also shoot for a discounted fee if you RSVP and assist with the match as a certified safety officer.

After the match, we will be holding a work party to clean up the barn. Anyone who sticks around to help out for at least 2 hours, or until we are finished, will be given a reduced fee waiver to use at a future ICORE match.

Non-members will be asked to sign the ACC release form prior to the start of the match.

    MATCH FEE: ACC Members: $15, Non-members: $20
    ROUND COUNT: ~102(but bring more!)
    WHEN: Sunday May 19th, 2013
    Set-Up: starts at 8:00 AM
    Registration: 9:15 AM
    Shooters' Meeting: 9:30 AM
Match starts immediately following shooters' meeting.

RULES: Current ICORE rules, in general, but semi-auto pistols are welcome to compete in the Outlaw category. Semi-auto shooters will be limited to 6rds in the gun.

NOTE: All matches at AtlantaCC are conducted under a COLD RANGE. That means all guns must be either holstered (or bagged) at all times, unloaded, hammer down, with no magazine inserted. You may only handle your gun at the direction of the
range officer (RO), or in the designated safe areas. You may not handle any ammunition or loaded magazines in the safe areas! Violation of these or an other safety rules shall result in a match disqualification.

LATE REGISTRATION AT MATCHES WILL NOT BE PERMITTED FOR ANY REASON. MISSING ANY PART OF THE SHOOTER'S MEETING IS CONSIDERED A BREECH OF SAFETY. THEREFORE, BE PUNCTUAL OR YOU WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO SHOOT. (THIS IS AN ACC RULE.)

    See you Sunday!

A friend and I have been bitten by the pistol shooting bug. So far we've only shot three IDPA events but we are looking for any venue to improve our skills. Would this be an event that could help broaden our shooting horizon(s) and add to our competiton experience. We'd both be shooting semi auto loading pistols.

    Amboy,

Sorry for the late response. Yes this match would help you broaden your horizons. You can bring your auto and would shoot in the outlaw category. :)

Maybe at the nationals, but at the local match bottom feeders are welcome--with the caveat that only six rounds can be loaded in a mag.;)
