And they`re ALL capable of breaking the speed limit, and all other sorts of illegal activities!

I'd venture to say most crimes in the U.S. involve a vehicle in some capacity (i.e. transportation to the scene, the "getaway car", kidnappings, transporting stolen goods/dead bodies/etc., running people down, etc.). And yet, we still have the "car show loophole."

Another way to think of the article in the OP, is 22,000 rounds / 12 firearms = 1,833 rounds per firearm.

Depends what one's opinion of an adequate stock of ammunition is. There are various opinons on that. Some would say 200 rounds per firearm. Some think 500 rounds per firearm. Some think 1,000 rounds per firarm.

"Selco" who survived the Balkan War and posts about his experience living in a city under siege during that time, thinks 2k per firearm is about right - which would put the above total a bit SHORT by 2,000 rounds.

As has been said before, depends on one's frame of reference, purpose, etc.

Way I look at it, ammo over the long term hardly ever goes down in price, it doesn't eat anything and costs nothing to store, assuming you have the room. As long as you aren't storing it in a 200 degree attic or in a leaky basement it will still go bang far longer than any of us have left on this Earth.

A "lifetime supply" bought when deals come along will allow you to keep shooting cheaply while others are panic buying .22LR at $2 bucks a shot. Easy money maker if you want to sell off to the folks paying $2 for a 5 cent cartridge. And if you raised your kids right and you over-estimated your lifetime, they get a good head start on their own pile.
