My friend is struggling to figure out which AR to buy. He's looking at a DPMS, a Rock River Arms and the gun shop is trying to talk him into a Daniel Defense. I'm not sure of the exact models but they are all flat tops and range from $930-$1300. I don't know much about ARs except that I want to build a 9mm SBR.

    I would appreciate any help.

    Thanks,
    Matt

Given Choices I would go with the DD also. Or could get teh Rock River get some range time and then upgrade it with a better barrel. But that said I would still buy the DD if I had the coin at the time.

    Price vs Quality

If he's just plinking, DPMS may be the one you'll find on sale. I own a R/R with a heavy 24" stainless bbl and its a great rifle. I also have a D/D upper on the way so no personal experience yet with DD but I keep hearing good things about 'em. R/R 2 stage trigger in both rifles and definitely worth what it cost extra.:yesway:

Thanks for everyone's help and advise. He ended up ordering a RRA LAR-15 Tactical Operator2. They have a special on RRAs website for a free rear site and free shipping for $1000. He's happy so that's all that matters. I'm eyeballing a BCM now though!

He should like that gun. I'd suggest checking the gas key staking. I've had 2 RRA bolts and only one of them was staked.
