An extra deterrent is always good. But I agree with you, that looked way too easy.
For the price of that device, I would have expected better, but..... I see this a lot when a manufacture takes a solid mechanical device and try and add electronics. They don't change the complete package, but just modify it which leads to issues like this....
I just threw my Stack-On in the trash, earlier today. The batteries died before I could change them and I had lost the key. Pulled out the paperclip and I was in in no time. I changed the batteries and a few days latter, the entire system stopped working. Used the paperclip to open it, cleared out my papers and tossed it.

Yup. MOst just slow someone down. Or keep honest people honest.

I just hope to slow someone down.
Though, if someone points out a good one, I'd probably dump those for the good one.
Not a safe, but the Tactical Wall products are ways to hide your weapons in plain sight.
