I've had my G22 for 8 months. I bought it at an auction (a police turn-in). It had definitely seen some range and carry time before I bought it, but has performed without a hiccup until last month. Now the slide sometimes locks back before the mag is empty. It typically happens several times per 15rd mag. I'm wondering whether a weak slide release spring could be the culprit. The slide release has a big more wiggle in it than my new G27... but it doesn't seem too bad.

Has anyone else had this experience?

Yup, I know exactly what the problem is.

Slide Release spring wasn't put in correctly. Shooter521 schooled me on this one.

The spring wire goes under the Trigger Pin.

If you're not familiar with the Glock, I can fix it for you in about a minute.

I found an article that talked about this on another forum. From what I can see, it looks like it's in the right place (just below the upper pin, if I'm looking at the right thing). But, hey, since you're in Southport, I'll buy you some Longs donuts if you want to take a look at it. :D

If the slide stop spring is installed correctly, it could still be bent or worn. Replacing the slide stop assembly would almost certainly fix the problem.

Cool, I'll just replace the slide stop assembly. It looks worn, anyway. Thanks!
