From Shelbyville Looking for a Gun Range Partner.

Hello, i am very new to owning a handgun. First one in my family for the last several generations. I do not really have anyone to learn from or to teach me, so i was hoping to find someone i could go to a gun range with, or that maybe happened to have a huge spot of land in the middle of nowhere that i could meet and could teach me a few things. I joined this website in hopes of learning more about how to be saved when carrying and how to properly protect myself and my family. If you live near shelbyville, feel free to contact me.

Welcome!! If you don't mind a younger INGO member helping you out. I'd LOVE to. I'm like a 5 minute drive from the FOP, and if you're just shooting handguns, that's where I'd recommend shooting. I'd more than be willing to assist you in any way possible.

May I ask, what type of handgun did you get?

I would HIGHLY recommend you taking the NRA Basic Pistol Course.
Beech Grove Firearms is not too far from Shelbytucky and has a very nice indoor range.
They teach the basic pistol course regularly and it's not too expensive.
You will get a lot out of it, including much needed safety training.

I'm about 5 mins from the FOP also. I actually have my application for the range sitting on the counter right now.
