I haven't had much time to turn, or do much of anything, since moving from Alaska to Florida and having our second child. However, I got some free wood the other day and decided to spend some time on the lathe.

These two are Alaskan Birch that I roughed in Alaska 2 years ago, finally finished.

Long Leaf Pine. I really like the Natural Edged one.

Several White Cedar bowls. Awesome character!

These two were made out of a 5" diameter White Cedar limb. They're a nesting set.

Finally a White Cedar Goblet. Not sure I really like it.

Very cool. I've watched my father and grandfather turn wood on a lathe but I've never done it myself. I've always wanted to see a bowl turned just to see how it's done.

    Nice work!

    Nice!

Beautiful work! I do quite a bit of turning as related to furniture making and repair (mostly spindles, bun feet etc.). Have not tried bowl turning but I just might have to after seeing these! :yesway: :)

That is incredible, I really like the bowl with the natural edging as well. You clearly have an eye for bringing out the character and beauty of the wood.

    Major kudos!
