    Nice work. Very attractive.
    Couple questions.
I'm assuming that was done with a laser.
If so, can you feel it when you handle the pistol, or is it merely a color change?
What does it do on high gloss blueing, ala Old Colt?

Now just get that barrel hood engine turned and we're talking barbecue guns!

Thank you, sorry for delayed response, I am just now seeing this.

Yes this is done with a laser and yes you can feel it, the metal is actually engraved and annealed to prevent rusting.

Regarding bluing and gloss finishes, this is an engraving process where material is removed, once done, you can either leave it as is with the annealed finished or have it re-finished a.k.a parkerized, cerakoted, etc.

This particular pistol was annealed and the color blue was chosen for the finish. General annealing produces a very nice grey/ stainless finish. I have a MOPA laser which allows me to pull color out of the metal itself.

Regarding cerakoting, I will be offering this service by 1st quarter of 2023, possibly sooner.

I have attached a picture of a Glock 19 slide I am currently working on as I am replying to this thread, this is a Deadpool themed slide with much greater depth to the engraving than the 1911. This slide also has the grey annealed finished I mentioned above. This is not 100% complete yet as I am finishing up the other side of the slide but this gives you a very accurate idea of what to expect.
