I swear some of you people. If the greens said that wasting resources was healthy for the planet you'd all be recycling and turning the lights out at every opportunity.
Rather than turning off my lights for an hour once a year, I try to actually reduce my energy consumption year 'round. I'm in it for BOTH kinds of green, not just to sing Kumbaya and hold hands.
Hmm, At most I would have 5 15W bulbs on for that hour. That is 75 watt-hours I will have saved. That is equal to 1 penny saved.
Not that I mind. My wife and I already use about 4000 less Kwh than the average household for an entirely electric house (wood burning stove). I plan to make that gap even larger in order to afford to go off grid.
