When you get a LONG sentence, there is a reason, like you bombed the capitol building.
I personally didn't see any reason to commute (not pardon) the prison sentences back then, and I still don't.
The ONLY mitigation circumstance was they didn't kill anyone.
Calls were placed to clear buildings in advance, this was property damage crimes.
There is a crap ton of reasons to go hard on these people,
They bombed the US capaitol building,
They used explosives,
They helped communist radicals escape from prisons,
No end to the reasons they should have stayed in prison...
When the current crop of terrorists that DID MURDER PEOPLE,
Spread bombs all over DC,
Get what they have coming no one commutes or pardons them inn the future.
The courts TRIED to set an example of what happens when you run around planting bombs, attacking the capitol, it just didn't sink in.
Time for that to happen again, and just as severe in sentence times,
Death penality for bombers and capitol hill police murders.
Maybe this time the lunatic fringe will take notice, or this far along, learn the lessons 'Alternative History' never taught them.
