Even on the desktop it's tolerable, I would just appreciate the ability to not ever have to have to use an app or mobile feature. Microsoft's idea was a bad one when they designed Win 10 and it's still a bad idea. They wanted one OS to rule them all, but that died a miserable death with them getting out of the phone market. Now their mobile stuff gets some use on surface and laptop devices, but plain doesn't make sense on a traditional desktop. One thing that would have improved the OS greatly would have been a "switch" or "toggle" within the OS to disable mobile features on a traditional desktop. That way the OS would have made a great deal more sense and not seem so schizophrenic.
We are being "upgraded" to Windows 10 this weekend by our IT weenies.
As long as they can make it "look" like 7, I don't expect much trouble.
I'm the kid around here at age 46, but we have grouchy older CAD jockeys that will scream like it's the end of the world is ANYTHING on their workstation looks the tiniest bit different.

Reason being: Windows 7 is losing support 1/2020 (unless Microsoft extends it again). As an IT group, we have to have supported OS to work with.
Windoze sucks
Is "Classic Shell" still available to download? . . . .
What OS do you run instead?
Yes it is
I have tried to switch to Linux multiple times and always end up coming back to Windows for something.
Do I like it, sometimes and at other times not so much. It has been very solid.
I have used the settings that allow you to run old software as if it is being run under an older version of windows.
I hate Microsoft Edge (and Bing). Need to find a way to delete or disable it, or at the very least, make it not the default browser/search engine.
Thank you. I just have not taken the time to figure out how this **** works. 7 was so much more intuitive.Edge is being phased out, but in the meantime, you can open the start menu, type "default" to go to "Default App Settings", and change the browser to IE instead of Edge. Or obviously Chrome/Firefox are fine, too.
