I am using a sim card for use in a car alarm. OK... Get a sim card and need to pay fee... Ok... Want to set up an online account to monitor how much I am using... To setup account they need to text to my phone number... Ahhh it is a car alarm... They said well stick the sim card in a phone to get the text... ok... Wait all my phones don't use sim cards... Ah son comes over and his phone does... Great... Swap out sim cards and I need a code to unlock his phone to use my sim card in it... Just so I can get a text to set up my online account... What the hell????

Do I need to buy a freaking phone to do this???? Account I am trying to set up is T-Mobile. Any ideas??? Customer service was useless. :wallbash:

What type of sim card is it? I've got several spare T-Mobile phones for the old sim cards that will probably never use again. You MIGHT be able to get someone at a T-Mobile store to help if they're not busy. Worst case scenario, Walmart has a T-Mobile prepaid phone for $13 (shows in stock in Plymouth, not in stock in South Bend or Mishawaka).

Wondering if I could post a wtb on craigslist... I was thinking of going to a t-mobile store... Closest store is Lansing or Chicago. Go figure. As far as SIM card guessing it is the older larger style... Don't know much about them... Are there just 2 sizes/kinds???

Maybe will check in with walmart here and see what they have.
