    these has been available for LEO's for some time. I would not want to be holding it when hit got hit. They have not been popular due to the extra weight.

    I kinda doubt that if you're holding a clipboard when it recieves 300 to 400 ft. lbs. of energy you're not going to be able to hold onto that sucker. I guess it's better than nothing for one shot.

    I think just the fact it would be able to at least defect a bullet might make it worth it.

    You probably would not be able to hold it and stop bullets, but I can see where it could at least defect one giving you that extra second.
