    Well,how do I say this? I want to see how my bullets perform, but don't want to go to the expense of buying ballistic gel or go to the trouble of making my own. Cost/reward is pretty small, IMO. (Lazy and cheap, you see.)

    Is there any other method I could use that is both easy and cheap, relative to the above?

    If you want to see how your bullet, or one very similar, performs in ballistic gelatin, just let Google do the searching...

    If it expands and penetrates in wet newsprint it will most likely perform well in any situation.

    I don't pack it too tight, give it room to expand after you have added the water.
    Saturate well, in a duct taped box or something similiar, shoot away.
