I have had a beautiful female Cedar Waxwing stuck in our garage all afternoon and evening. I've had the garage door open and all she does is fly around right at the ceiling and never flies towards the door. I decided the best course of action would be to grab my extra large landing net and try to catch her to let her go.

My my new neighbor across the street now thinks I'm crazy and just turns around and goes inside when he sees me. The bird is still here.

Any bright ideas how to get her out?

I have used an air hose and directed the nozzle in the birds direction to herd it out the door.Done this one time and it worked very well. Did not harm the bird.

The neighbor will grow to understand you with time.....:)

Just leave it alone, and leave your garage door open. It will find its own way out.

About 12 hours in with the door open. She has flown nowhere near the door yet.

Plus, that's nowhere near as much fun as running around blindly flailing at the air with a landing net in a crowded garage.
