I would like to put a reddot on my chinese AK.

It does NOT have a siderail scope mount like a Rommy AK does.

What would be the best way to go about mounting a reddot?

I think the company is sniper mounts or snpier scopes but they make a mount that goes where the rear sight is. And if your optic gets damaged the mount acts as a back up iron sight.

I'd buy the TWS Gen II dogleg.

They're nice because you're not getting the heat from the gas tube. Plus the rail adds no weight.

I wouldn't feel comfortable with anything less than an aimpoint on an Ultimak rail as those things get HOT. If you ARE planning on putting an aimpoint on the gun, they are amazing and don't add weight to the gun.

Don't buy UTG unless you want me to make fun of you.

UTG blows for many reasons. Unlike the above listed rails, they add weight and don't co witness.

Larue tactical used to make the "iron dot" but they discontinued it. I never got to buy one :(

The new UsPalm optic specific rails are pretty GTG

Ive run a PA micro on my ultimak rail through a 2 day rifle class and countless rounds with no issue.

that said I will one day have an aimpoint micro on there.

The MI offering is pretty close to what the LaRue mount looked like. It's not the only one out there. Parabellum Armament Company also makes a top-rail cover similar to the TWS offering. According to reviews I've read, both hold zero pretty well, but the stabilizing method is different for each. They're comparable in price, pretty much, but TWS will ding you another $40 for their peep sight.
