    As I posted earlier about a buying a custom 1911, was suggested build. If I build what would be a good base gun to start with or a good frame and slide to start with????? Will be .45 ACP.

    Heck, even my Turkish 1911 has a forged frame, slide and barrel. How they do it at that cost point is amazing. Mine is a military tribute piece and I can't afford a US Property marked pistol but if staking my butt on an EDC, I'd want American made like a Springfield Armory forged frame and slide.

    Nighthawk sells everything you need to build a 1911 on there website. I built my first and only 1911 with all Nighthawk stuff and it’s by far the best 1911 I own
    You will spend 2 k in parts but I ordered as I could afford over a year’s time.
