I have a 2004 GMC Sierra 1500 that has the gauge cluster coming off and on. I pulled the unit and wiggled the wiring, and it lit up. I know nothing about electrical, so do you have any recommendations? Franklin to Greenwood area would be appreciated.

I had an appointment at Ken's in Franklin today, but they didn't post they were closing. Which really ticked me off, especially since they picked the day.

Common on that generation of fullsize GM trucks. You will need an entire rebuilt gauge cluster. You need to provide whoever supplier you do business with, with your milage.

My 04 cluster went nuts on me as well. Find a reputable reman offering and follow the steps they give you. They will ask for mileage and vin#. You have to exchange the cluster as a core. It is not expensive considering and it plugs right in.
Do not pay a shop for this very simple service.

Thanks for the info. Will look into it. Any suggestion on a reputable source?

I can not for the life of me remember how I sourced my reman cluster. It was a couple years ago when I decided to just keep the 04 due to the inflated used truck market. It had 146K on it at the time and has been well maintained so I opted to replace all the normal maint issues with that truck. New headlight and tail light assembly's complete. Greta improvement'
New drivers side mirror. New 4WD and light controls on the dash. The gauge cluster. New brake lines.
Couple other things but you get my drift here. Truck and I will grow old and rusty together.
