If I buy an AR from someone on this website, would it be the type of rifle that could take one of those 100 round belts? If not how could I hook up the right parts for that. Also I cannot find belts of more than 100 rounds and they also have expelled cartridges in them, what's that all about?

This just may be my inexperience talking here, but I have never seen a "belt-fed" AR-15. Are you talking about a M249?

EDIT: Never mind after a Google search it turns out they do exist lol.

Personally I've never seen or heard of a belt fed AR-15

    Now you have. ;)

This is a Ciener belt-fed conversion from the late 1980s/early 90s. A buddy of mine had one for a little while; just sold it for about $7000.

Best have that AR15 set up with a piston operating system (rather than a gas operating system) before you try for a 100 round belt. Otherwise, you'll cook something for good.
