She wanted to let her boyfriend get away. The 3 year old was shot once in the arm and shoulder. Unbelievable!

I would love to be on her jury.

A .45 no less...Bad things have always happened to young innocent kids, but the media really makes you feel like there is nothing but worthless sacs filling our land at alarming rates because it is so easy to sell bad news.

Possibly, but not most assuredly. Most instances of the withholding of medical care are due to the compelling rationale of religious belief, not to facilitate, or otherwise to aid and abet the escape of a violent felon from capture and prosecution.

The kids we see with PTSD from the beatings, they and their mother recieved, is all too common. The horrors a lot of kids see would make some adults lie awake at night. It is sad, that the same laws that protect our rights, protect those parents and their rights. One way to solve the problem, is to make the punishment suit the crime, and make it easier to prosecute the offender. A slap on the wrist, some parenting classes, and a couple of clean drops at DCS, the child goes home, and the cycle continues.
