Finishing up my 1911 rebuild/upgrade
New match grade bull barrel from a worn out bushing barrel.
Reverse plug cut for full length guide rod.
Dovetail front sight cut.
Bomar rear sight cut.
Flat top slide
Undercut trigger guard.
Fit new ambi safety
30lpi front strap handcut checkering.
Weld on egw magwell.
Cerakote slide in burnt bronze frame and parts in armor black.

Clark para cut.

Reverse plug cut out old stop and ream for new plug

Bead blast rinse in acetone then cerakoted.

Welded on magwell bead blast frame and small parts. Ready to final acetone clean and cerakote later today.

FYI I checked the springback and it was only .0005 so it’ll break in ok. Still great tip and something to look out for.

How long did that front strap checkering take you to do? I have the stuff to do it in 25LPI, but need to practice first.

Dude it’s a chore, took all day and then some. Got to file that front strap totally flush so the diamonds come out uniform.
