3.9 mil serial puts this at the end of IBM Corp. wartime production in spring of 44.
This a great example of an original un-messed with survivor.
Look close and take note of all matching wear patterns, correct part markings and finishes.
IBM real ordnance acceptance stamp is crisp and clear on...
Early IBM Corp. wartime production 3.6 mil serial #.
All components including trigger group and slide have IBM correct wartime contractor stamps.
The early high wood I cut stock is one of 50K Rock-Ola sent IBM in Sept. of 43. Note you can still make out the IBM ordnance acceptance stamp on the...
I have a 1944 dated Norwegian Krag in 6.5 Swede. Built for the Germans during occupation, it is stamped as such (see pictures), and falls in the serial block range for the last 600 rifles built during the war (SN# NC 627). Unsure of when it was sporterized. Has some wear but action is smooth...
Excellent collector/shooter. Comes with 300 rounds of ammo, 200 soft tip, 100 FMJ! Non numbers matching, complete gun with leather sling.
$560 for everything!
Does anyone have any interest in 1943 dates Frankford Arsenal M2 ball ammo?
The boxes are in great shape, as is the cartridges too. Cool for a display item.
Have 5 boxes.
Tomorrow will mark the 75th anniversary of D-day, a very special day for France and especially for the people of Normandy.
The Allied invasion that started on the beaches of Normandy marked the be beginning of Europe's liberation and eventually the end of Nazi Germany.
Commemorative ceremonies...
Looking to buy a shootable, good condition classic era M1 Garand, gun itself would be fine but extras are a plus.
I am not looking for numbers matching, or collector grade/perfect examples as I am trying to stay on a budget.
This is a surprise for my old man who has a 1911a1 and .30...
A rare sight in Normandy as we rarely get snow.
The Normandy American Cemetery in Colleville-sur-Mer, Normandy.
The cemetery is located right next to Omaha Beach, just a few hundred yards from the beach, as you can see from the first picture.
Today I had the honor of meeting a group of WW2 veterans from Canada.
They landed on the beaches of Normandy 75 years ago and today they were back in town to take part in different ceremonies in their honor.
Most of them were only teenagers in 1942.
It was a joy to approach them and see all...
Today marks the 73rd Anniversary of operation Overlord, or D-Day, the landing of Allied forces on the beaches of Normandy on June 6th 1944.
This date marks the begining of the liberation of France and the rest of Europe, and ultimately the defeat of Nazi Germany.
Over 10,000 Allied soldiers...
I spotted this guy on the beach today.
I snapped a few pictures to share with the group.
It has fallen upside down on the beach and is still mostly in one piece which is quite amazing.
There are lots of pieces of reinforced concrete and bent steel beams all around, scattered in a large area, so...
I've been reading about some stage magicians who became camoufleurs during WW2.
I came across some pictures that I've never seen before and thought I would share with the group.
I know there are some history buffs on here, those people probably won't learn anything knew.
A group of painters...
That model has a towing bar on the front.
Two or three Jeeps can be hooked together to tow heavy artilery pieces, or small trucks, that a single Jeep couldn't tow by itself.
One thing I always enjoyed around the holidays was getting to see relatives who have served in various conflicts around the world and hearing the stories that they had to tell. Sadly, those relatives of mine are all gone now...
Have a war story? This thread is for those who want to tell them...
Today I found some more bunkers to explore.
Since they are partially buried they just look like small hills from a distance.
You need to approach them from the right angle to be able to see the entrance. And even then it's often hidden by thick vegetation, bushes and trees.
On top of that it was...
