      First Time Hunter

I started with deer hunting after a decade of shooting paper. No prior hunting experience. I would suggest catching some good youtube videos to get a good idea. Prep, prep, prep before your first outing for firearm season. If you are hunting public land, spend time walking it and scouting it...

      anyone walk creeks?

I always seem to find cool fossils and crinoids, but only one nice arrowhead in all the time i've spent outdoors. A lot of the creeks are really picked over, but you never know what is going to wash in during the next big rain!

      Tactical Lever Action

Wow, there are some great looking gats in this thread. I think a lever is going to have to be my next project. Thanks for the inspiration!

      What Holster Are You Using?

I was able to connect with no adapter. I MIGHT have drilled one hole to make it line up or bored out a hole or two to make the hardware fit. If memory serves me correctly they have the universal holes to mount to just about anything.

      Mushrooms

Maybe five years ago, but the future is now. Apps require the same amount of base level intelligence as looking something up in a book. The information you retrieve is only as good as the information you put in. A little hard for some of the outlying generations, i know.

      BIFL Camp axe/hand axe?

I'm surprised the Estwing didn't work out for you. I have a couple of their hand tools including hatchet and rock hammer and I wouldnt use anything else. I've spent quite a bit of time swinging a friend's Hoffman hatchet and another's Hults Almike Hatchet. I liked the feel of both in the hand -...

      Mushrooms

I would suggest downloading the app "Seek" it is funded by Nat Geo and Cali academy of Science. Free to use and it works like a little Pokedex. You just take a couple pictures of the plant, fungus, or animal in question and it more often then not gives you a positive ID. Very handy for foraging...

Why Everyone Needs To Stock Up On Power Banks

I have a couple of Ankers that work really well for 4+ smart phone charges. I keep smaller ones on hand for emergency usually good for 1.5 charges on my device. One for each vehicle and 3-4 in storage that i rotate and check charges on every few months. You can sometimes get the smaller capacity...

      problem with AR-15 mag

Was the mag fully loaded? Was the bolt closed? See if the mag will take when downloaded to 28 rounds and an open bolt on the rifle. Be careful though and make sure your safety is on!

Help a couple of potential felons out.

Cant you remove the butt plate on those where the brace attaches and replace it with a cap with a sling swivel or something? Essentially making it impossible to attach a brace? The other easy option would be the pinned and welded fake flash suppressor. Itll look cool too.

      Indy gun stores

Indy Arms Co off of 55th and Keystone has a nice indoor range and a fair number of handguns to ogle over. Their range time is a little expensive in my opinion though.
