Stocking firewood without chainsaws, what works best?

A couple of sources for saws are crosscutsaws.com and lehmans.com . Crosscut saws has a wide variety of woodcutting maintenance, transport and cutting equipment.

If they buy it all where do they store it?

The 2700 + armored personnel carriers will take more room.

Barry Sotero's Plan to Deny Purple Heart to Ft. Hood Victims

Does this mean that if something was to happen to the CIC or Congress it would just be a "Workplace Incident"?

Are calls for stricter gun laws really about guns?

It's totally about control. The government can't force anything unless the people have no means to resist.

      CCI .22LR MiniMag packaging

Back when I shot them regularly I'd get some that just didn't want to slide. Then I'd slip a thin knife blade in the far end and twist gently. The lid would slip part way and then you could slide it the rest of the way.

      3 Inch and Under Folder

My Victorinox "Farmer" doesn't quite fill the bill as it's 3 5/8" closed though the blade is 2 3/4". It is truly up to any task I've found around the house and yard including the very usable saw blade on "small" trees to an inch thick or so.

      Pitcher pump well

This from E-how site: Sounds like you are right on the point of no return at that depth. Don't forget to add the height of the pump above ground level. Pitcher Pump Pitcher pumps create a vacuum within the well that pulls water from the well into the pitcher pump's drop-pipe and up through...

5 best types of trees to prep with

You might also be providing you with trade goods if things break badly. Around here apples from local orchards sell for $7 - $9 per 1/2 bushel. We dry them for snacks all winter and an occasional pie. One addition I want to make is a few grape vines. Good food, wine if you're so incllinedand...

      1911 questions.

Jet Girl is starting you out right. Most 1911 problems are at least accentuated by small or large magazine variences.

If True This Is Very Disturbing - Litmus Test For Military Leaders

Indiana guard is going to patrol for shoplifters in NW Indiana next weekend. May be early step to condition them to police civilians.

      Critique my GHB

+1 on the dog pack (Check Amazon). Acquiring a bicycle along the way would really help if you can use one (Variable conditions). It can get the load off your back and be 2-3 times as fast.

      Remington 700 caliber suggestions

Several answers. .223 for cost of ammo 243 to extend effective range by 200 yards 260 Remington for even better performance (roughly a 6.5X55 level) After that you are into the 7's, 30's etc which get into more money with every bang and more recoil to go along with it.

23 farmers from three states all agree!

I copied the original post and sent it to my son near Lafayette. He said 3 of the organic farmers he usually buys from had plowed their fields under last week. They figured they were looking at only 15% of their normal yield plus the strong possibility of diseased plants and yield from weakened...

      Glock field knives

For those of us who find $20 approaching the top of our budget it's a really good knife.

      Snow shoes. Southern IN

Before I bought snowshoes from SG I'd buy a $26 roll up sled to be able to pull my gear. It keeps you from sinking into the deep stuff and glides over the top making. If you get sruck out overnite the sled becomes a bed or a roof.

      Raw Milk

The government wants to lock us out of any ability to provide food for ourselves. Control the food and you control the people. I'd like to buy raw milk to try in making homemade cheese. I'm sure they don't want me to be able to do that. One tiny piece of control lost.

What is better for an Essential Battery of Arms

In that condition my next step would be to make sure I had a surplus of ammunition. How much of each if you shot for a couple of years. In the meantime watch the sales for good priced 9mm ammo and put it back till buying a handgun fit the budget. It lets you ease into your purchases.

      Refinishing a CZ82

I have one that you can fire double action but not single. The action slides right past the single action stop making it a DA only. If you "Carefully" operate the slide manually it will work SA. Probably a sear problem but I haven't found a gunsmith to work on it. One old timer I took it to...
