      Try looking around some pawn shops but also ask why the people sold them to begin with. Sometimes you find a great deal, and if not you will at least be able to see what shooters are good to own vs bad. Example- If they have a few R51's then you can say NOPE, and go for another gun....

      Hey churchmouse: Glad you found the prob. Hope you enjoy it like I do. And Grandmaster: I'm like you I would Love to fire mine more but hell 45 acp is getting kinda expensive. And since you said it it does have a smoother feel.

      I already own a Remington 1911 r1 but I'm curious about everyone elses views on it. It's just the basic model. Myself I like it even after 1200 rnd through it I only had one failure to feed but that was after 30 rnds of " dirty reloads I got from my cousin.

      You're right there, the death penalty doesn't slow 'em down cause they spend 20 yrs on the row then released on a technicality. So there is no repercussions. But still, rights being revoked may stop some.

      Me, I keep mine on the coat rack by the door, they are made more for a quick trip to the video rental place or pharmacy, etc. when I need to carry and don't want to take the time to " dress for several hrs out " and put on a regular holster.
