      Bergara BMR .22LR?

I ment, I'd stick with carbon steel barrel unless you really like a light rifle. I like it better than the CZs, but wouldn't say it's better. The CZ is a classic style with the wood stocks. The BMR feels more modern

      Bergara BMR .22LR?

Wish it was that simple, it's had multiple proven scopes mounted. Bedded the action. When it gets hot the POI drops 3"-4" at 50yds. My guess is a surface in the barrel tension system is not quite true. If you want to talk about wandering zeros I'm prepping a 1903a3 and Garand for the D-Day...

      Bergara BMR .22LR?

Got a BMR with carbon barrel. Has a wondering zero issue. I'd complain but it shoots the lights out. CCI SV shoots pretty good with is nice. SK match and Standard shoot great, MOA at 50yds 10 shot groups are pretty common. It's hard to shoot off a bench since it's so light. I'd stick with the...

      Palmetto "AR-9" stuff

I wouldn't be to quick to over look the scorpion. I just built a nice AR9 for my sister and shot them side by side with similar optics. I feel the only real advantage for the AR9 is the trigger (used a 3gun Hyperfire). The Scorpion handled better in my opinion, it's lighter and felt better...

Potentially stupid Scorpion Evo 3 Carbine question

Agree, shot both side by side last weekend. The AR recoil is sharper feeling and muzzle blast is significantly more. The scorpion is a blast to shoot steel at 25 yards.

      AR Trigger Recommendations

Don't overlook Hyperfire. Clean light break and short reset. It also hits harder than any trigger I know of. I've had a few light primer strikes with other triggers. It should last as the design takes pressure of the sear. I've got about 5000 through it. RRA two stage match is nice for the...

      RIA race gun?

The Tanfoglio is a Match Elite. It single action only, pre travel and over travel adjustable and very light and smooth. I've also got one of the old Series 88 and it's a little rough, even in single action but very accurate. And the Para mags do work in the RIA made by Mec-Gar, I just tested...

      RIA race gun?

The Springfield is one the older one's made by Imbel from I believe American forgings, so it probably isn't one of Springfield best examples.

      RIA race gun?

Springfield Loaded SS .45 Just got back from the range, shot about 300 reloads through the 9mm RIA Target. The accuracy was excellent. Trigger broke in some, better trigger than my Tanfoglio Match. Will it out last may Tannfoglio, probably not. The RIA internals look a little rough. I'll change...

      RIA race gun?

I just bought a RIA Target double stack, it runs fine and mags are cheap. I'll compete with it if I like it better than my Tanfoglio or use it as a back-up. I'd replace the extractor, ejector and firing pin with top quality for piece of mind. I've also got a single stack RIA 9mm with 3-5...

To brake or not to brake...

You can always take it off if you don't like it.

Tell me if this is weird

If I had the money I'd have exact duplicates of all the guns I compete with. Easier to keep a stock of spares and magazines.

      Rock Island 1911 9MM?

I paid 350.00 for one a few months ago. Had a few jambs when new. The slide usually locks back with one round left in the mag, I haven't worked on it at all or bought any quality mags. The barrel interior on mine is pretty rough, it's starting to smooth out some. The gun is tight and the trigger...

Gabe Suarez: The Myth Of Grip

While I certainly agree there's nothing that beats training and proper technique. When I hear "there's nothing a 1911 does better than a modern striker fired gun. It sounds like hype. How about accuracy. Why do so many compete with heavy steel guns?

      20ga shotgun recommendations?..

I went cheap last year and used a 20 gauge 870 w/20" barrel and a choate mag extension. The only real problem is finding ammo pouches for reloading. A semi-auto would probably be better for your wife unless she's comfortable with a pump gun.

Gabe Suarez: The Myth Of Grip

I don't think there's anything in this article i agree with. Who believes my M&P Pro has a better trigger than a my 1911s or a Witness Match.

      CZ 75

I worked 25 years as a tool & die engineer. I've seen and done hundreds of redesigns. It's pretty hard to improve on an original design without a lot of thought. I'd stay with the 9mm. Can't go wrong with the CZ or most of the clones.

Best 9mm to target shoot (plink) with?.....

Don't forget to look in pawn shops. I found a Tanfoglion TZ75 Model 88 (before the witness) in box of old pistols for 225.00 with no mags. They didn't have any idea what is was. It looked pretty rough when I bought it, probably about 500 rounds and never cleaned, it looks pretty nice now. Shoots...

Best 9mm to target shoot (plink) with?.....

I bought one of the Citadel 9mm 1911 for 350.00 at Rural King. Very accurate, tight and the trigger is pretty nice. The barrel interior was pretty rough. i had to polish the chamber to get it extract reliably. But still a good buy.

Best 9mm to target shoot (plink) with?.....

i have to agree. I just paid 620.00 for mine about the same price i paid for my M&P Pro. There both nice but the Tanfoglio is twice the gun at the range. Wouldn't want to carry it though.
