Thoughts on Mag Couplers for AR

So the wife and I have our AR's setup right now, and both of our rifles are pretty minimalistic (not cheap, just not accessory heavy). I hate way to many accessories really. Adds to much in the way of weight, complication, and to much crap to break. Anyways, while fiddling with some of our...

      Deer Butchering Tools

I wanted to say thanks for all the advice everyone. Definitely got me more things to think about than I had originally!

      Deer Butchering Tools

So, I used to always send my deer to a processor to get butchered, but its just getting to expensive. Recently started really focusing on learning to get deer processed myself but I've found I'm going to need at least a few tools to really get it done the way I want. Knives, saws, I'm all good...

      New to BP Muzzleloader Hunting

Thanks for the help! I appreciate it :)

      New to BP Muzzleloader Hunting

So my memory of possibly running 95gr may not be outside the realm of possibility? We spent most of our time hunting in fairly dense forests that you really could not get a 200 yard shot in (heck you where lucky to get 100 yard shots at all). I'll probably start with 100gr and see where I go...

      New to BP Muzzleloader Hunting

So, I guess the title is half right. My dad and I used to use precussion cap muzzle loaders to deer hunt when I was a kid. I've recently picked one up to expand my deer season a bit. I picked up a Traditions Deerhunter precussion muzzleloader (in .50 cal). I figure it will get me started for...

      2 Meter Antenna Recommendations

Thanks! Looks like there was only one antenna listed, which was: https://www.gigaparts.com/g7-220.html It doesn't specifically mention 2 meter / 70cm, I assume this is ok for it?

      2 Meter Antenna Recommendations

The radio mast I've got in the back yard is a 3 sided tower (alot like the one in the picture you attached. Just with no antennas on it (obviously). Side note, I was kind of looking at antenna like this one...

      2 Meter Antenna Recommendations

Not sure how to do that really, but I know the previous owners had antennas on the radio mast before we moved in. It is set into a pretty serious concrete base. I wasn't planning on putting anything huge on it, just something that I can reach out a bit more than our mobile antennas.

      2 Meter Antenna Recommendations

Sorry if this was posted in the wrong place, but I'm looking for good antenna recommendations. I've got a radio mast (about 25-30ft tall) behind the house that is on a slight hill and I'm wanting to put my HAM antenna on that. Both the wife and I have our tech license, and we're going to get a...

      Broadfork Questions

Anyone have experience with a broadfork? I'm really leaning towards purchasing one for our large in ground garden. Most of the things we will be growing in it are root / bulb crops, so having relatively loose soil would be nice, but I don't want to use a tiller either. Our plan is right now...

What have you done this week to prep? PART II

Our improvements have come in a couple of different forms. Simple improvements around the house to make it more efficient such as: 1) Building new well house (old one was rotting away and not retaining heat at all) 2) Building a new clothes line (already have stuff for hand washing clothes) 3)...

      CC tracking?

Just out of curiosity, I don't see anyone mentioning discover cards. While I don't use CC's often, its nice to have an "emergency" card. Wife and I are seriously looking into dropping our Visa card for a discover card just because of this. Thoughts?

What did you do for your Daily Prep?

Little or small, we all do something to help our preps / independence. It can be as small as something like you bought a few extra cans of food at the grocery store while grocery shopping, picked up some interesting item, or self improvement. For example, yesterday the wife and I got a rowing...

NEW GUN LAW GETTING A VOTE

Is a 19 year old less entitled to their rights than a 30 year old? While I did not have my carry permit when I was 18 (didn't live in IN at the time), I have handled firearms since I was old enough to remember. I have carried them in the woods. Isn't carrying them in the woods more difficult...

      Snowmageddon!

I have to say I'm a bit annoyed. I had a doc appointment today that got cancelled because "we are going to get all this snow"....our gym closed because "we are going to get all this snow", heck we can't hardly do anything...and all we got was some rain (the UPS guy and I actually chatted about...

Do you own a firearm chambered in .22LR?

I've got 2 different .22lr's at the house. A Ruger 10/22 that I'm kinda slowly upgrading and a Henry AR7 that I bought a while back. Both have their own purposes and lately the 10/22 gets alot of use dispatching pests and helping train the dog for gunfire :)

      Would you?

So, I'll insert my own 2 cents in here... My wife was kind of in the same boat. She enjoys shooting little stuff occasionally but really didn't take it seriously at all. We did end up buying her a pocket 9mm early on. That was my biggest mistake. She would take it and shoot MAYBE two mags...

      Board/card games. What's your favorite?

Munchkin is an awesome game, and is by far the most often played card game around my house. Magic The Gathering (we only have some early cards, nothing recent) is played occasionally as well. I do really enjoy some euchre occasionally also, though we don't tend to play that often. I do play...
