Thank you. The middle one went to a friend looking for a ww2 shooter. I replaced it with a ww1 replica since I don't suppose I'll have the coin for an original umc. I dont feel like I settled with the turnbull / remimgton.

Posted a few days back. Thought since this thread had spun towards CMP I would add a few more. On the bottom is a CMP Ithaca from late in the first draw. It has Austrian proof marks on it. The Ithaca slide on the top one is on an early colt rs frame.

Yes. Ross Carter. Thanks. Tried contacting him for some info and have come up empty there. Very, very nicely built, imo.

Don't post often. First time caller ,long time listener you might say. Couple I've recently picked up. The wilson is 38 super and 9mm combo. The other built by Ross Clark @2010 (best guess).
Not sure I've ever heard of a Scout model Woodsman. There are targets, sports, and match of three series. And although I think highly of Hemingway, the five inch barrel was not a factory offering. It was either 6 5/8 or 4 1/2.
I'm probably going down Sat. morning. I like the promoters and set up tables at a few of there shows just because I like decent shows around to go to. Looking for a .45 either glock or xd or 1911 or????
Might try posting at smith-wessonforum.comGood find and good luck. Hope it works out. Just got into S&W's recently and am having a ball.P.s.--theres a registered magnum box on ebay right now.
I suppose i'll have to rip the pages of 73's with double set triggers out of my copy of George Madis' book. I don't doubt that single set triggers were an option as well but double set triggers are easy to see. Again, usually with another special ordered item or two...extra long, or heavy barrel...
Double set triggers were options on the 73 and rarely seen. In good condition and depending on the caliber they are extremely collectible. It's possible, and probable they're would be other special order features as well.
+1 for Thumb safeties.......couldn't help but notice in all the apples vs. oranges and pistols vs. rifles debates that the reason giving for having a safety or not hinged around a mechanical advantage of the pistol...did not catch any mention of how slow or cumbersome it was to disengage your...
I opted for the 4" Service in .45acp with the optional thumb safety. I grew up with 1911's and traded out a lightweight commander so the "extra safety" is a plus IMHO>
The last time I saw that Fort Wayne rag write an article on Right to Carry they were mad they couldn't get your name and address if you were CC.
I'll swithch brands of TP if I find out the recycle the Gazette!!!!!
