What the **** is going on. Twitter is going crazy about this eclipse stuff. All I am reading is stuff about earthquakes.

Sorry, not buying the state of emergency because a few extra people are coming into the state and the Holiday Inn Express' are filling up. This entire thing is just weird.

    It's "pre-disastered"...

I think I am going to start spouting the eclipse is a Deep State conspiracy. It is a planned mass brain washing event using Starlink (aka Skynet) satellites to beam mind control messages through the cleverly constructed viewing glasses (visual information filters).

The whole thing is a reaction by the Illuminati and the Earth core Lizard People to backstop their failed mass vax program.

The mainstream media and the feds claim that this is a natural event....confirming that you are correct.

It’s important to emphasize that 99.99% eclipse is still nothing like 100% totality. If you can get to 100%, do it. It’s not just that it’s dark, getting to see the corona without glasses is really neat. If we have a view at all Monday….

I think the only major issues will be people congregating maybe where they don’t have permission, blocking traffic, and then post-eclipse gridlock on the roads. Everyone was warned to not just come for a day trip, and it seems like that is what a lot of people are planning.

Lucky for me I can just stay home and watch it from my own yard.
I stacked an extra 9 shade on the 10 shade I already have in my welding mask, as I'd rather use protection I know what it is, rather than trust the low cost sunglasses that may or may not meet spec.
Everything I find says to use at least a 14 shade if using a welding mask.

I'm not buying all the media hype about mass chaos, but just in case I decided to leave my truck parked right at the end of the bridge that leads to our house. It should keep potential trespassers from driving up our driveway, at least.

The eclipse isn't the sort of thing I would travel in order to see, but since my backyard is less than 1 mile from the center line I'll basically be able to watch the longest possible totality without leaving home. Now that it's getting close to it, I'm actually pretty excited. :)

    Special Eclipse Preview...

A special eclipse preview has been scheduled for tonight. At midnight, go outside and take a look around and practice looking up in preparation for the actual event this Monday.

It looks like it’s gonna be raining here in Texas. I was hoping to be able to see it.
After traveling to KY in 17 and feeling the excitement afterward, I was planning to make hotel reservations down there for this one. After all, Texas is typically better weather and dryer. A better chance than cold rainy IN, right?

But something told me not to. Give it a shot here. You already saw it, so if you miss the next one it’s not a big deal.

    Glad I listened.

Stopped by Meijer for veggies to make kebabs for dinner. Produce was wiped out like covid.

Not a grape to be had, and anything used in veggie trays or quick snacks was gone. Like cherry tomatoes.

And apparently NOBIDY eats unsalted peanuts. Those were the only peanuts left. lol.

I know a few people who I are having picnics & parties. Chick fil la is closing during the eclipse (Avon). I can walk to work but my wife drive about 7 miles - she’s being warned about the drive home which will be @ 2:30.

I have seen 2 partials, both in Illinois. In 1967 it got a tad dark but I don’t remember much; not a big deal. The other, around 2017 it got a little dusky but that’s about it. I am looking forward to seeing it get a little dark for a few minutes but no biggie for me.

I get more enjoyment reading and listening to all the doomsday, end of times, biblical junk people are spewing out there. Quite amusing.

So were you at Meijer trying to stock up for this? (I did fill up my gas tank today)
