Commando Krav Maga training on Tuesday and Thursday 6:30 - 8:00pm starting the 2nd week in January. Temuchin “Cactus” Tafoya is a level 8 and one of six Elite Team Instructors for Commando Krav Maga. He has trained and certified instructors for CKM in both North America and Latin America since 2015 after completing his training and Elite Team test in Israel.

Cactus has over 20 years experience in the private security industry. He specializes and instructs in the areas of executive protection, high risk security, private investigations and fugitive recovery. He is also a tactical firearms instructor specializing in defensive pistol and rifle, single person CQB, two person CQB, third party protection and active shooter for civilians, security and law enforcement personal.

In January we will be training on 01/08 - 11 (Mon. - Thur.) and 01/22 -25 (Mon. - Thur.) In February, class will return to it's normal Tue./Thur. schedule each week.

Last year the cost was $150/mo. If you are interested, just show up for a class. (I currently can't find an online registration page.)

    Class location:
    2900 Graham Road, Suite A,
    Franklin, IN, 46131

I started CKM last March with Cactus and am planning to go through the whole curriculum again in 2024. We train in street clothes and nothing is done at full speed or full strength. Cactus emphasizes developing muscle memory. The oldest regular students are very late 60’s or early 70’s. If you can walk, stand for 90 minutes, and lift your arms above your head - you can learn CKM.

I’ve never done martial arts and in the self defense classes I have previously taken the instructors have always said “Don’t let the fight go to the ground.” Well, I’m 6’1” / 230 lbs. and no longer a spring chicken. That’s great advice, but if someone threatens or attacks me, watching my footing will be a 2nd or 3rd priority. Cactus also says the same thing about staying on your feet, BUT then he teaches lots of different things you can do if the fight goes to the ground.

Feel free to DM/Start Conversation if you have questions. I'll be happy to put you in touch with Cactus if I can't answer your question.

Can vouch, very cool class and the folks are great. I had a brief introduction but my schedule got wacky and I had to step away. Hoping to get back to it soon!

Thanks for the post. I've been interested in starting Kav Maga since I heard about it 20 years ago but there hasn't been instruction near enough to Crawfordsville. At the time there was only one facility in central Indiana.

Regrettably Franklin is still to far for me to make a weekly commitment but I'm glad to know it's there
