      This is out of a second hand, 35 year old Mossberg model 500. I had trouble getting the tube out so I soaked it overnight. This was my "pheasant" shotgun and slugs were never fired since it also has a slug barrel. The tube finally came out and this is what I found:

      Are you sure that you don't already have a 9 round magazine? The mag in your gun in that first pic sure looks like a 9 rounder! Many people have complained that it's tough to get the last couple of rounds in them but I use an Uplula and don't have any trouble. Maybe I'm just looking at it wrong...

      Are you referring to that darkened area between the case mouth and the shoulder? I think that is from the annealing process.

      Here's another vote for the Dillon/Ohaus. I had been using a Lyman since 1986 and had been happy with it. I use a calibrated Mettler Toledo laboratory grade scale at work and made up my own check weights. Out of curiosity, I tried the weights on the Lyman scale and it was reading .3 grains too...

      The rest of it was pretty ordinary like a tall bush such as a lilac but not as dense, IIRC. Those red things were so eye-catching that I only took pictures of them. We'll go back this fall so I'll try to get more pics.

      Ruger LC9 Any Good?

      I have the LC9S and I'm very happy with it. The tiny white dot sights are excellent and the trigger is light years better than a double action pull. The gun is very light and as such, recoil is very snappy but it's a blast to shoot. I shoot it better than my SR9C.
