Braun is a hard no for me down here in southern Indiana due to his involvement and support for the mid-states corridor project. I'm not yet sure who will get my vote.
I'm shooting it through this 4.75 barrel Uberti Cattleman that is well worn:
The wads come out looking like this after shooting:
I'm very impressed with the results, but cutting those strips to just the right width and length is tedious. If I go with that version, I'm going to have to work up...
The version with no wad is definitely leaving some very minor leading. It also doesn't pattern as even or consistently as seen by the clipped edge on the 5ft example. It also did this once at 5ft as well:
This is a visual of how that one is put together:
The results are not exactly what I expected. It seems the version without a wad has a more dense pattern, but as expected is much dirtier. The version with the cardboard wad has a slightly larger pattern, but better dispersion.
I'm leaning toward the version with the cardboard wad even though...
I've been using the cci 22 shotshells for voles, chipmunks, and snakes around my rural property, but they can be hard to find when needed and not exactly cheap. I decided to try rolling my own for my 45 colt revolver and could use some feedback on my results.
First, the cci 22, which I've...
I wasn't sure if I would like casting my own bullets, so I tried to limit my costs to get started. I got the cheapest Lee breach lock C-frame press and the Lee sizing dies. I've found that I thoroughly enjoy it, but still use the same equipment. I usually do batches of 100 to 200 bullets at a...
I've been casting for 9mm, 38/357, 44spcl/mag, 45acp, and 45colt for a little over a year now. I powder coat them. I got a mold for 50cal round balls, but haven't tried that yet. Also been thinking about trying to do some 308 rifle rounds, but that seems much more complicated.
Hmm, if that was supposed to notify me, it didn't work.
Anyway, I've caught coyote, fox, and bobcat on trailcam in my front yard, but never seen a mountain lion luckily. There have been confirmed reports of them years ago not far from this area, so I do believe they are around. We've had bear...
I was raised in a two parent Christian family as was my wife. We both went to public schools. I went to college at Ball State in the early 90’s, my wife didn’t go to college. We raised our four girls the same way, they went to a rural public school. Two went to college and two did not.
Based on...
