      ZeroHedge on Ammo

Keep in mind they run a business. Often a small family business. They made no money at all when their inventory ran out. We all saw the empty shelves for months at a time. Be thankful they didn't go out of business.

Whats a fair price for a 54 caliber percussion T/C Hawken and availability of caps and BP

Get the .50 caliber. Components much more readily available than .54 The .54s have more stopping power all else equal, but there are a lot more choices of projectiles and accessories for 50.

      pulling down rounds SUCKS

A short piece of thin weed wacker cord is a good gift to give to new reloaders to have in their range bag. I tell them to check their bores with it from the bench if there is any chance at all of an obstruction. They get good at it if you show them some YouTube videos of guns blowing up first.

      Italian Garands?

For those concerned over authentic USGI parts on Italian rifles it gets compicated. The US-made Italian M1 rifles and carbines were lend lease rifles. They were always US property on loan to our allies. Conversely, once they were returned to the US Army they went back into US Army armories with...

      Italian Garands?

Our litigous society scares the crap outta me working on other's guns. That said I have, and will occaisonally, help others. I have rebarrelling tools-vises, wrenches, reamers, and chamber guages. I even have a set-up to use a trailer hitch insert to hold the barrel vise when removing a stuck...

      Italian Garands?

As a recovering M1 impulse buyer I've seen and heard some much bullhocky it made me love my '03s a little more each time. My .308 M1s will be migrating towards the front of the safe as 7.62x51 replaces .30-06 as the surplus ammo of the future. I try and steer new M1 buyers to consider .308...

      Italian Garands?

How and why did they modify the clip? .308 Garands don't need the clips modified, unless you mean a clip modified to not eject. I've seen those on scoped Garanads that block the clip from ejecting. The only one I've seen like that was modified to not eject, and only accepted seven rounds. Makes...

NWI INGO General Post Part 19 - LegOs, Glocks and iPhones!

I don't have a stuffed squirrel pencil case yet, but there is snow in Michiana Shores. That's big squirrel too.

      Is Silver next?

Besides my wife still in California I don't miss much, except the Oakland Gold and Silver coin shop where I bought silver. I could walk there on my lunch hour and buy silver. They post their prices on their website. It was easy. I trusted them from years of partonizing their business, Now I'm...

Ingo Meet & Shoot March 27

Sounds like fun. Pencil me in. I'll be bringing multiple CMP rifles. A newly acquired 2-groove M1903A3 that I want to see up against a 5-groove '03A3. Wouldn't feel comfortable not bringing an M1 or two. Maybe a .308 Garand too. Ain't real lest it's wood and steel.

      Is Silver next?

Please keep in mind much has changed over the years. Bitcoin is now moving in on metals as "a safe haven" reserve. The old rules of finance are being tested in the digitized world. I don't know how that will play out, but I aint buying the story or the Bitcoins. The two things I'm currently...

      Real gun screw sale!

So what Numrich is doing is emptying out their junk drawer, bagging it up and selling it to us. I already got more perfectly good stuff I don't need. But this is tempting!

      Lee loadmaster help...

http://loadmastervideos.com/ That site has the best loadmaster information on the planet. I have two, and they can lead you on a long and flat learning curve trying to diagnose issues that are usually easy to fix. My best tip is to learn to index the press, and take your time learning it.
