Where did you find those numbers at,
    I wish they were true.com

IMPD starts and just under $72,000 . Thats what 42 bucks before OT
LE has some awesome PERF packages.

How much does a Public School Teacher make in Indiana? The average Public School Teacher salary in Indiana is $55,671 as of August 27, 2023, but the range typically falls between $46,486 and $67,898. Not bad for what 180-190 days of work.

Seems Skilled Union Trades are a good deal.
A teacher with her masters in a larger school corp like HSE or Carmel can top out around $95k/year in salary. They can also add in ESY through the summer and summer school programs to make an insane amount per hour plus transportation costs. The last time the wife did that it was $0.35 per mile (58 miles round trip per day) and $43.xx per hour. Good pay, good bennies but the amount of bs you have to tolerate to deal with a large corp is insane,.

The wife is the last of the TRF pension here in Indiana. Starting the year after she started teaching they stopped enrolling new teachers into that program. Once she clicks the "I'm out" button that figure is fixed as well. There are no increases. Luckily it's based off 5 years when she was making big bucks out of Fishers. 80% of 92k is still decent on top of our other retirement investments.
Man, I wish I got 80%. Mine is closer to 50% probably, but with SS I will get by.

Since this thread is about GM, my 2 cents. I retired from GM after almost 29 year there. I was one of the last to be hired with a pension as part of my benefits. When I retired, my pension worked out to about 10% of my gross pay (ie before taxes). Thankfully I invested in a fairly good IRA.

GM management never seemed to care about the workers who actually brought in the money, only the money itself.

Would you say that the employees took pride in their work and were diligent in the performance of their jobs or would you say that the average employee was mostly interested in putting in time to get paid and going home?

If you’ve been buying domestic you’ve already been buying “foreign”. I’ve been buying Korean cars since 2002. They’ve been better cars than anything the big three offered.
My current Hyundai Elantra Touring has been great. I wish Hyundai made a pickup. I'd look into it if they did.

No one pays pensions anymore. I haven't worked for an employer that's payed a pension in >20 years. Time for unions to face the music. Pensions are a turd for companies.
Good Union Trade Pensions are bargained for with each contract.
How much per hr to the members pension fund is negotiated for and a contract is signed.

Those here that have no pension to look forward to, If you were Henry Ford, would you have signed that first UAW's contract the summer of 1941?
