I've spent an hour looking for a spring on the floor only to find it in the blinds on the window.

This one had to have fallen out because I was expecting to see the standard plunger/captured spring arrangement.

A search and a sweep with a strong magnet and NADA. I am sure I can source a spring from my in stock stuff.

I went through the side charger today. New extractor O-ring and spring.
Went deep into everything. Looks OK so now lets se.

#2 on the single shot AR list I adjusted the gas block. Installed a slightly shortened Tubbs Flat wound recoil spring. It has a very short spring tube inside a pistol grip.
Worked over the chamber and cleaned everything.

#3 is giving me zero indicators as to what might be wrong. When I watched the BCG id did not cycle back half way indicating ultra low recoil impulse (gas) but everything on that system appears fine. Interesting.

As long as I'm doing photos, if anyone wondered where I got gmcttr from, it's an abbreviation of GeMCuTTeR. Cutting facetted gemsstones was a hobby of mine 30 years back. One of my favorites, an Amethyst.

G'night all. Got to TRY and get some sleep before heading to the cath lab in the morning.
Very cool handle. Good luck tomorrow.

Oh and I vote we change your name to sparky the squirrel in light of your b***s of steel. No way in hell am I in a tree like that.

*alignment of the gas block over the gas hole in the barrel ?

Any chance the gas block is up against the shoulder of the barrel but is intended to be gapped enough to allow using a handguard front retainer? Thats a long shot since the hole in the gas block is usually oversized.

I remember you talking about this a couple of years ago. Fascinating ! I've always been interested in learning how to cut stones. Curious .... do you still have any of the equipment ?

Good luck tomorrow, Tarzan. Right before they put you under, try reciting the above mantra. If nothing else, it'll take your mind off of things, while you're waiting for the procedure to begin.

The hole leaves a circle around the barrel gas hole especially if it is centered and it is perfectly centered.
The effort to charge it is normal so the spring is OK. The BCG is a serious high dollar piece.

If the “group” wants to drop CM and I message and let us know if you’re interested in a two day event.

Two day would be at the same range as 2019.

All preliminary and I know it is way early but my range dates (due to new shooter classes) are booking up fast.

My new range Officer is an instructor and he’s having new shooter classes almost every weekend.
I'll probably only be there the one day.

Heading down to East Tennessee Saturday morning for 8 days....Changing of the colors in the Smokey’s...

CKW and I have done this up on 2 wheels before. We started in Virginia on the Sunset Pkw. It changes to the Blue Ridge in NC and then down into Ashville and over into the Smokey's. We were on the bike for 9 days. Then a 2 day roll back to the truck and trailer in Virginia from south of the Dragon in Tennessee. 11 days total.

Man we we young and cool once. My profile pic was taken on that trip.
