I will never pay a $20 cover charge to spend my money
It's expensive for what it is. We're going tomorrow with family that have never been. They're looking for something for their 22 year old daughter. Price for tomorrow is irrelevant.
I hope you are successful.
Thinking about heading to the show from southern Indiana today... Can anyone advise on the condition of the parking areas? My mobility scooter doesn't operate very well in snow...
Thanks. They have an idea what they're after, but having a hard time locating it local. One of them is after a stripped AR lower as well. We all went to the Richmond show. That was their very first show. They were impressed with that one and had a good time. I told them to wait until the get to a 1500. Plans were immediately made. Their daughter didn't get to go to the Richmond show.
I may pick up another lower if I find one I like. Maybe an EndoMag if I see one. Not really after anything else right now. Whenever the next show after April is the one I'll be interested in. ($$ from crops will be in)
I'm looking forward to this year. I have a small list of things I want to accomplish firearm related, should be pretty easy.
Sell a Glock 30 & S&W 625PC. Pick up a suppressor for 5.56 & 300blk. Pick up a Glock 48 and something to shoot and throw clays. Nothing fancy, probably just a Mossberg 500 in either 12 or 20. We already have other 12s so may try a 20 just for fun. Simple, fun and easy to please this year.
I went today around noon. Coming in off W. 38th St. was pretty crowded, and I ended up parking a long way from the show. No line to get in the show, and moderate crowds inside. I noticed a lot more random crap, off-brand knife dealers, old guns, private dealers, and assorted oddities at this show. I ended up skipping about 75% of the booths and probably won’t be going to any more shows unless I’m in need of something very specific. I was looking forward to wasting away the afternoon and ended up rather disappointed.
OK................??????
We're pretty much set and happy with everything. We already have a myriad of handguns, several AR's, and shotguns. We're set up to cast and reload for everything except for the 12 gauge. Got my SBR done late in 2018, it gets the suppressor this year. I never shoot the 625PC, I hate the moon clips and everyone else hates the gun itself. It may get swapped for a S&W 586 L-Comp. I don't carry the Glock 30 anymore and have a Glock 21SF and a Ruger 1911LW for 45 range play.
The only things I'm really after is the Glock 48 when it gets released and something more appropriate to shoot clay pigeons with. 48 years old and I've never fired at one until this past fall at the relatives. We all had fun with it. All our shotguns are 18 or 20" barrels. I don't want to have to swap things out all the time so a simple Mossberg fits the bill. We don't have a big expensive list (for a change).
The show was pretty nice. As someone else said, the dealers were willing to deal and things were reasonable. Everyone enjoyed it. After some looking around and trying things out she went home with a new red/black "battle worn" Glock 43.
So how was ammo situation out there. I only ask because I ran into 2 guys at Wal-Mart buying up a bunch of ammo Saturday night. The younger one said they sold almost everything they had out there and needed to restock.
FYI: Parking fee at the State Fairgrounds is now $8/car.
