Yes, but feel free to answer it either way. It can be a gun you already own. Or it could just be something you really want. I just think it would be something interesting to hear people's choices and why. It could be a handgun or long gun. It could be for self protection, huntng, or plinking.
Am I to assume that I don't own any guns?

Way more than $1000, but I've always wanted an HK MP5 in 10mm, they made a limited run for the FBI back in the '90's.
Then when the FBI went with the 40, HK destroyed most of them, I think only a handful are left in existence, this is according to the HK people when the NRA convention was here.
The FBI payed for them, with our tax money, then asked HK to destroy them, go figure, when money comes as easy as taxing the populace it is easily wasted.
Sorry for the thread jack of sorts.

If I were to tell someone to buy something this would not be my answer, but for me and I had a grand I'd buy a ruger precision rifle in 6.5 creedmoor. If I could find one!

S&W 629 Classic 6.5" barrel. I had one several years ago and thought it would be a good idea to trade it. Stupid. I'd use what was left for reloading components.

A CZ75 as Cajunized as a grand would get me.

EDIT: I forgot to post the why. Cause I want one and my pretend $1,000 is just exactly what I can afford to spend right now.

1K..........let me see........not many options at that price point for me. Everything I want is a bit north of there.

If I could find one it would be a SA TRP Bull barrel Tactical full rail.

A thousand clams to spend on a gun, hmmmm....

How about a Mossberg 500 in 12g. with a 18" home defense barrel, a 20" deer barrel, and a 26" bird barrel. ....the money left over all goes for ammo.
