    It has always been true.

The thought process is that someone that has something fully auto, and has gone through the process of getting a tax stamp, is a competent shooter. Not always, but usually.

The RSO will be observing to make sure that all of the rounds are going where they should be.

At Point Blank, rapid fire is defined as more than two shots within a second. So if you want to do double-taps, and you're hitting the target, that is fine.

We just don't want renters doing mag dumps. You don't want that either.

I've never been there, do they have a rifle range or just handgun? I checked out the rules on their website but they don't list a range for the Carmel location.

DarrenL. Point Blank is a great range and gun shop. You can fire rifle there up to .308. I go quite a bit since they opened one in Greenwood. It is right behind the Gander Mountain by the interstate. Nice place, friendly people.

Thanks! I knew there was one in Carmel, but the website doesn't list the range rules for that location, I will have to stop by this week.

The listed rules apply to all of their locations. You should definitely stop in. Great range and a lot of good folks on the staff... :yesway:

I was there on friday and the guy next to me had a full auto something. Looked like a uzi or mac 10. He just showed them the right paper work and they called it back to the RSO. He didn't have any problems, aside from everyone watching him.

They do allow full auto. I have been to the Carmel location twice with a friend that has full autos and we just showed them the paper work. We had no issues and its always fun talking to the folks that are curious about them. They tend to draw quite a crowd.

Just being curious. What's the point of shooting a .308 on a 25 yard range? Or just about any center fire rifle cartridge for that matter.

To get your son to shoot it for the first time, to function test the rifle or new ammo you might have for it, to be able to go shoot it when it is dark out or your outdoor range is closed or it is raining or snowing out, it's convenient to go to an indoors range and shoot in the winter and the new shooters you bring want to shoot a rifle..... the list is endless.

My son and I went there last night, shot for an hour at the rifle rate. 2 people, one lane at rifle rate for an hour....total came to $28.80

This was on Sat. night (Peak time). I think they have lower rates for middle of week days.

Check Groupon. On occasion, they have 3 month memberships for $99, sometimes cheaper. Pretty good deal if you plan to go to the range often during those 3 months.

Make sure you bring your Federal Tax Stamp! They will only let you shoot it if you show it to them even though they are not ATF or IRS agents. It's not stated if you have to bring the original or a certified copy.:ar15:

This is what I figured. I don't think controlled shooting should be punished though. I mean personally I don't go to a rage to see how many bullseyes I can hour. It's more about controlled rounds on target to replicate the event if actually being to use your firearm.
