Im interested in a decent revolver to carry. Already own S&W .38spl snub. Looking more for a 3-4" barrel length. Anyone have an opinion on affordable models? .357 - .44mag I'm thinking but give me your suggestions. Thanks gang :draw:

It's hard to beat a Ruger Sp101. They might be a little heavy and big for daily pocket carry like a J frame but are built like a tank and very comfortable to shoot.

Thanks Jim. I've googled them out of curiosity but never handled. Also thought about the GP100 series. I guess I'll have to stop by the gun store and get a feel for a couple of them.

Smith and Wesson 19 with the 2.5'' barrel perfect carry revolver I think. You can always look for a Taurus in .44 spl nice big bore revolvers for the money too.

The Smith 66 is the best option and the best model 66 is the pinned and recessed models. They also have pinned front sights so they can be changed to different types. I have a fiber optic on mine. Night sights would be nice on a carry piece and/or laser grips.

The 66/19 is awesome without a doubt. On a budget the 64s show up a lot as Police/Armed Guard trade ins, and they are really great as well. Oddly enough I found my very well worn 19 for less than my 64, but I think I just caught a lucky consignment buy.

3in or 4in Ruger GP100 or a 4in S&W 686. Both are not much large than a k fram but are stronger. You won't wear them out with magnums or 38's,

GP 100. Period. Awesome handgun. It will handle rounds that would crack the frames of other guns. Truly a joy to shoot.

The new Smith M60 Pro looks good, just wish it didn't have that %$#@ lawyer lock.
    That kills my buying one.
