    I love me some color case hardening, but that is a poorly done example. It's like they didn't even try to mix the bone and wood charcoals. Well, it's probably a faux case hardening, anyway.

    Turnbull don't do faux.....I had an early heritage series K 22 with a Turnbull Case Hardening...It looked the same..I believe Kirk would agree that it looks different in person...

    The only K 22 I ever got rid of and I still cry over it to this day.....

    In that case, someone must have dumped a bag of charcoal in, threw the barrel and receiver on top, and poured the other charcoal on top of that. Yuck.

    It also doesn't help that some genius put plastic grips on it. That's like wearing sneakers with an unmatched 3 piece Armani.

    Doug Turnbull is considered "the man" in many aspects of gun restoration, case-coloring being one of them. That said, I don't particularly like this example. I believe those are the factory grips.
